RACE PLATES

DO NOT BEND, FOLD, WRAP OR MODIFY YOUR RACE PLATE IN ANY WAY. It must be seen clearly from the front, hanging flat, facing forward, below your front handlebars. Wrapping, bending, folding, cutting or modifying the race plate may break the timing chip and you may not receive a start or finish time. You may also face disqualification by the commissaires. Please CLICK HERE for examples of correct and incorrect race plate mounting. The larger race bib gets attached to the back of your jersey, using the safety pins provided.

SAFETY & BEHAVIOUR

  • Helmets must be worn at all times whilst on the bike.
  • Time trial bikes and tri bars are not permitted.
  • In-ear devices for music are not permitted. It is critically important that all riders can hear external sounds, especially ambulance sirens, race convoy horns, and alert calls from other riders and marshals.
  • Riders who disobey marshals will risk disqualification.
  • Riders deemed to be shortcutting the route will be disqualified. We have track boxes on course to record any riders who shortcut.
  • Riders who are seen deliberately throwing litter on course will have their numbers reported to the Commissaires and will face disqualification.
  • Strictly no pushing of other riders up climbs (with the exception of Hand MTBs).
  • E-bike riders must not influence the times of other riders via the provision of drafting or assistance on climbs (with the exception of Hand MTBs).
  • Soigneurs/supporters must only pass up bottles at the allocated locations, and they must register to have access to these locations.
  • All riders must ride in a manner that maximises the safety of other participants.

RACE TIMING & RESULTS

  • Age calculations for categories will be made as at December 31st 2026.
  • Race timing and results will be managed by Idle Timing. Any queries or disputes regarding results are to be submitted at the finish line to our AusCycling Principal of the Commissaires’ Panel.
  • Riders retiring from the race must do so from a designated checkpoint or SAG vehicle, and inform the Results Manager of their retirement.
